O ur hearts are a powerful source of guidance; they can help us make thoughtful decisions and better understand our feelings. However, we must listen to the signs from both our bodies and minds alike in order for these messages to be truly meaningful. Eating too much or too little, overeating unhealthy foods, sleeping late – all of this negatively affects how well rested we feel while also impacting other areas such as energy levels and clarity when it comes to tackling challenging situations head-on. That is why it’s important to take time out each day to truly be with yourself so that you can tune into your body’s needs.
Being in the moment is key to a healthy, purposeful life. Without living presently, we trap ourselves between past and future; an anxious state that saps away our energy. This fear of taking action can lead us into procrastination – staying stuck holds no benefit whatsoever. Embrace each day by being aware and appreciative so you are able to make mindful decisions with confidence.
Unlocking your true potential starts with living from the heart. By learning to trust our own inner wisdom and listening to what feels right in our bodies, we can open up a state of presence within us – activating the parasympathetic system so that we are free to express ourselves authentically. When you make this connection between mind and body, life is even more rewarding and fulfilling.
Our bodies have so much to say if we just take the time to listen. As children, it was easier for us to recognise when something wasn’t good for us and communicate how we were feeling by expressing our emotions instead of avoiding them as many adults do. It tends to only be in times when difficulty arises that leads many of us back towards being more mindful about what our body is communicating to us, which then offers us a reminder of how important it is to look after our physical and emotional health.
We all have a unique inner wisdom that guides us through life, and yet so often we ignore it. Our deep-seated feelings can be incredibly powerful; they tell us what’s true for our hearts and help give direction on how to live an authentic, meaningful life. But sometimes other factors interfere with trusting ourselves – why are we hesitating instead of tapping into this natural intuition? The answer might not always be simple but recognising the importance of listening inwards is key to evolving as individuals and growing stronger together.
The answer can be found in the following.
A few moments…
What are we using as a means to numb us from feeling our true feelings and how do we stimulate ourselves to numb us enough to disregard the body’s natural feelings and impulses?
Not being present to the body
If there is no presence then we won’t be able to listen. A practice of conscious presence is vital to reconnect and respond to our most natural feelings.
Registering how we breath
Our breath is an indicator of our emotional and physical well-being. When we sense it becomes strained or unsteady, this may be a sign that something isn’t allowing us to feel authentically ourselves in the present moment. Cultivating a connection with both our body and breath allows us to stay centred within life’s experiences.
Recognise the stimulation
It’s important to be aware of what is stimulating us day-to-day since it can have an impact on our thoughts and emotions. It could be anything from the food we’re eating or drinks like coffee or tea, to long-held beliefs about ourselves that no longer serve us. Building a relationship with our bodies helps us identify triggers while encouraging greater self-love along the way!
Connect with your truth
As you journey along with your truth, developing a strong bond to your feelings is inevitable. As this connection grows stronger and more powerful, it will become clear that these feelings have always been within us; but now we are able to access them and realise their importance in our lives.
